The main character is Thomas Angelo, a young cab driver looking for money even in the most suspicious neighborhoods. The action of the game takes place in a fictional American city Lost Heaven in the last years of the interwar period (1930-1938). The basic plot remained unchanged from the original. The game was released as a standalone title and as a part of the Mafia: Trilogy package, which also includes refreshed editions of the next two installments of the series.
Hangar 13 team is responsible for the refreshment of the production. Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of the cult gangster game by Illusion Softworks studio from 2002.
